The Curious Minds School-Year STEM Academy is a hands-on STEM enrichment program for students in Grades 6–8. Running from October through May, the academy complements classroom learning by helping students apply concepts from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through engaging, project-based experiences.
Early drop-offs and late pickups are allowed.
The academy is designed for middle school students in Grades 6–8 who are curious about STEM and enjoy learning through building, experimenting, coding, and solving real-world challenges.
Unlike many STEM enrichment programs, Curious Minds is intentionally designed to complement what students are already learning in school. Each week, students apply classroom concepts through hands-on projects that deepen understanding, strengthen academic performance, and build confidence.
Students participate in four learning modules throughout the school year:
Each module includes practical projects and real-world STEM applications.
Students may work on projects such as:
Our curriculum aligns with key middle school subjects. For example:
This approach helps students connect classroom learning to real-world problem-solving.
No. The program is designed for students with a range of experience levels. Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn are all that’s needed.
Students develop valuable academic and life skills, including:
Students explore a variety of STEM fields while learning how these disciplines solve real-world problems. The program helps build a strong foundation for future STEM studies and introduces students to a wide range of STEM career pathways.
The School-Year STEM Academy runs from October through May.
Students attend weekly sessions where they participate in guided, hands-on STEM learning experiences that reinforce concepts taught in school.
Location details for classes will be shared with enrolled families before the program begins.
By applying classroom concepts through practical projects, students strengthen their understanding of subjects such as mathematics, science, engineering, computer science, and English. This hands-on approach can improve confidence, engagement, and problem-solving skills.
Students experience both individual and collaborative learning. Many projects encourage teamwork, communication, and creative problem-solving while allowing students to develop their own ideas.
Throughout the program, students design, build, test, and improve projects. They also present their ideas and solutions, helping them build confidence in communicating scientific and engineering concepts.
